Mathematics Department of CRPF Public School, Rohini
celebrated Mathematics Week as “Ganit Utsav” from 15 December 2016 to 22
December 2016 to remark the 129th Birth Anniversary of the great Indian
Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
The inauguration was done by respected Principal ma’am
Mrs. Nidhi Chaudhary, Vice-Principal ma’am Mrs. Uma Mudgal, Mr. Amit Bajaj HOD (Mathematics),
Mrs. Vandana Sehgal Primary in-charge , Ms. Hema Batra Pre-Primary in-charge
and all the teachers of Mathematics department.
A series of inter house competition’s for different
classes were organized in the whole week.
On the Inaugural day i.e. 15 December 2016, Math’s
Book Cover Design competition, Rubik Cube Competition (for hostlers) and a presentation
on Ramanujan and his life was shown by
Mr. Amit Bajaj, HOD (Mathematics).

On 16 December 2016, Great Mathematician Competition
was organized for class VI students. Mr. Ajay Marwah , HOD(Mathematics) from
S.D. Public School, Pitam Pura and Ms. Surabhi , Maths teacher from the same
school were present as the judges. Mr. Ajay Marwah delivered a lecture on the
life of Ramanujan also.

On 19 December 2016, Math’s Quiz was organized for class
VIII.

On 20 December 2016, Math’s Relay Race was organized
for classes IX and X.

On 21 December 2016, Math’s Concept Teaching was
organized for class XI. The judges for this event were Dr. Mridula Budhraja,
Associate Professor in Mathematics, Shivaji College, Delhi University and our
Vice-Principal ma’am Mrs. Uma Mudgal.

The culmination ceremony was held on 22nd December 2016 and was marked
by celebrating birthday of Srinivasa Ramanujan and National Math’s Day. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Thakur, a renowned author
and a Mathematics teacher graces the occasion and was the chief guest.
The ceremony ended in magnificence, with all the
Prize winner students receiving merit certificates for their respective events,
by honorable chief guest Dr. Rajesh Kumar Thakur and Principal ma’am Mrs. Nidhi
Chaudhary in the special assembly.

RESULTS:
The whole week was full of Mathematical Joy with
lots of learning for all the students.
