Two students Anjali Priya of IX B and Sucheta Kumari of X A participated in state level Sanskrit debate (Vaad-Vivaad) competition and won second prize( Rs. 3600 cash prize) out of 24 teams.

One more Laurel to CRPF School

Dear All

The students of CRPF Public School, Rohini have done exceedingly well in class XII Examination conducted by CBSE during the academic session 2011-2012.  Following 6 (six) students of the school are within top 1% (Cut-off score – 471 marks) and are eligible for  scholarship by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India for Higher Education (SHE) under innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE). They will be getting  Rs. 80,000/- per year for five years on enrolment into education in Basic and Natural Science courses at B.Sc./Integrated M.Sc. or M.S. level. THE GOLDEN OWL - JOURNEY FROM SCHOOL TO DISTRICT LEVEL

Dear All

Corruption seems to be a natural face of Indian politics as others find corruption still the hottest topic of Indian administrative Market. Really, this decade of 21^st Century tends to kill corruption as well as click people with awareness.

Hence, making contribution of their part our Sanskrit-guru, Dr. Vijay Singh and Mr. Amitosh Sharma unleashed their creativity to give us a masterpiece in the form of a play – THE GOLDEN OWL. Seeking the humour element, quality and uniqueness of this play, it was presented on Independence Day in School, this year. The play was acclaimed with stupendous applause and words of praise by the audience.

This team then headed for Zonal competition and despite the hair splitting judgment and tough competitions among 23 top schools of our zone, we topped the zone. As if topping the zone wasn’t enough, our play again won the Inter- Zonal completion by securing first position. The quality of this play can be judged by the statement of one of the judges in the competition who as executed “PROFESSIONALLY”.

Well, after being the clear winners of Inter- Zonal championship, this play would now be represented at the district level.

At the end, we would like to share that this play not only entertained us but also truly nurtured the talent of each performer involved.

Our school participated in an Inter–School Competition “EXPRESSIONS 2K11” hosted at MATA JAI KAUR PUBLIC SCHOOL, ASHOK VIHAR on 3 September 2011. A total of twenty one students from our school participated in eight different competitions and performed enthusiastically. It was truly a learning

Dear All

We got another reason for which you can be proud of your school and your schoolmates as well. Following is what Nitin Agrawal has to share with all of us:

I on being selected had the pleasure to attend Youth Model United Nation 2011 organised by Lingaya’s Univeristy, Faridabad. It was  an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda wherein participants role played as delegates of various countries and were dressed in formal attire.

The conference hosted four councils namely The General Assembly, The United Nations Security Council, The Economic and Social Council and The United Nations Global Compact. I  was assigned to be the delegate of Niger in the General Assembly.The agenda and hence the proceedings focused on Conventional Weapon Cluster.

Our committee was excellently chaired by Mr Abhishek Vats and vice chaired by Mr Sagar Gupta. The two day long conference held on 17th and 18th February was embedded with four sessions. The delegates were provided with transport facility. I used to board the bus at 6 am in the morning. During the conference procedure prescribed the united Nations was followed throughout. A day’s proceeding consisted of a roll call followed by a 3 hours long session wherein delegates discussed their countries views, policies and suggestion through the medium of Speaker’s list and various motions such as moderated and  unmoderated caucuses followed by lunch and a session which usually lasted another 2.5 hours

In the fourth session(day 2) the delegates were presented with a crisis situation in certain part of we therefore were supposed to reacts toward and resolve the same under prescribed time. It was a perfect first hand experience of a Model United Nations Conference which was certainly instrumental in perpetuating diplomacy and public speaking skills. In hope our school may also host such events in the near future.

Sweet Succes At The E-Commerce Quiz!

We are back with yet another happy news for all of you! We'll leave it on the winners to say it all. Following is what they have to share about their victory at the T.I.M.E.'s E-Commerce Quiz:

Triumphant Institute of Management Education (T.I.M.E) organized an E-Commerce quiz for the commerce student of class 11th and 12th .The first round was held in the school itself for the selection of best three teams for the next level which was to be held in St. Columbus school, Connaught Place. We were the highest scorers from our school. On 28th November, 2010, we went to St. Columbus school along with the other two selected teams from our school .More than 150 teams from 70 schools from all over Delhi participated in the Quiz. Prelims were held in which we managed to tie for a spot in the top 6 teams for the finals.A tie breaker took place and we successfully secured a place in top six. The final round consisted of four exciting rounds, though none of the teams could score much!Till the third round even we could not garner many points! It was the fourth and the final round “The buzzer round” which turned things around for us. The final round results were dramatic too as we tied yet another time with another team for the second place. We faced yet another tie-breaker and we luckily won this one too..! We got an apple i-pod shuffle for securing the second position .It was a great experience for us and we were very happy to get a podium finish.

Inter School Debate Competition -- RESULT

Two students Sasha Agarwal and Pragya (class 10 E) from our school participated in the inter school debate competition held at Apeejay Public School, Pitam Pura and bagged the SECOND POSITION. It was a competition as a part of literary week in the school. There were total 18 teams in the competition! The topic was CWG HASN’T ENHANCED INDIA IMAGE. Sasha was against the topic n pragya for the topic. The judges included eminent professors from Hindu College and IP University. 1^st prize was bagged by Indrapashtha School and third prize by Lancers Convent.

We are happily and proudly posting about these talented guns of our school. We hope to have more such opportunities when we can post about such young achievers...

Students Sharing Their Summer Experiences!

Recently, Nitin Agrawal, a student of Class XI of our school and Gunjan Jain (Batch 2009-2010) were selected to participate in the INVITING ALL YOUNG MINDS (IAYM-2010), a summer internship programme organised by the Mathematical Sciences Foundation in the month of June. Following is what they wish to share with all of us:


I on being selected had the pleasure to participate in an internship programme organized by Mathematical Sciences Foundation at The Air Force School, Subroto Park , supported by Department of Science and Technology ( DST) and National Mission on Bamboo Application (NMBA) between 1st June to 29th June 2010.

The programme, particularly my project aimed at innovative use of Bamboo to build mathematical & scientific tools and teaching aids owing to it renewability, sustainability, abundant supply etc. Besides our seven teaching aids namely B-anglometer (Bamboo anglo meter) , Fricto meter, Xylophone , Bapult , Geomkit, gears and Bambal instrumental in explaining concepts associated with trigonometry &heights and distances , frictional forces, musical frequency, law of conservation of energy & projectile motion , properties of polygons, working of gears and linear equations respectively we proposed a Bamboo bus shelter offering comfortable seating & protection which was equipped with modern day facilities.


During the course of the internship we also had morning lecture session with Dr Sanjeev Agrawal, Professor, MSF and Associate Professor, St. Stephen's College and Dr. Amber Habib, Professor, MSF on out of the box applications and understanding of Maths. Moreover we had lecture sessions with Dr. Arijit Mukhopadhyay , Professor IGIB and Dr. Geetha Venketraman , Associate Professor, St. Stephen's College. Also we had the pleasure of interacting with Mr. Sam Pitroda, Advisor to the Prime Minister of India and Dr. Jeff Morgan, Professor, University of Houston, and Dr. Dinesh Singh , Director, University of Delhi South Campus.

We had closing ceremony after the presentations on 29th June and we were presented with some nice books and stipend of Rs. 5000 on successful completion of the programme. It was an immensely great experience attending the programme and would have the memories and experiences preserved forever in my memory stick.

From June 1 till June 29, I found myself totally engrossed in the IAYM 2010, working or rather appreciating the beauty of maths with some of the most crazy (about maths!) people I ever found! With some unexpected twists in the tale, I was finally given the project of my choice i.e. Mathematical Biology! Since I had both maths and biology as my main subjects in Class XII, I was very curious to find out what lies in between the both! And I was completely awed by what I found and learned throughout the programme!


Under our mentor, our group of 5 (initially 6!), applied linear algebra and statistics to genetic data to differentiate populations and their response to disease. Besides our main project, we also worked for what was called 'Mathematical Communication' Project in which, we were given a topic of Class X. We were supposed to teach the topic in the most interactive and conducive way we could on the day of final presentation. Also, we were asked to prepare a Question Bank of our own questions for the same topic! 


The mornings were marked by lectures of eminent and interesting personalities like Dr. Sanjeev Aggrawal and Dr. Amber Habib. Bonus sessions with intellectuals from various other walks of life like Mr. Sam Pitroda, Dr. Dinesh Singh and Dr. Arijit Mukhopadhyaya made it all the more worth cherishing!


On the final day of presentations, our group managed to pull off a decent performance by presenting what all we did during the month long internship. We were awarded a (precious) merit certificate along with a stipend of Rs.5000/- and some lovely books. Needless to mention, I am now missing the pace we had at IAYM. Like all good things, it did come to an end but only after imparting fantastic education and gifting equally fantastic memories too!
