The Fire-Fighting Workshop

Preparedness and Prevention is always better than cure. In every unfortunate instance of disasters, our preparedness determines our ability to respond effectively and hence combat the consequences of the same. And to prepare the youngsters of our school for future, a demonstration on Fire-fighting was organized in the school premises.

Students were told about the know-how of the skill of fire-fighting. Since firefighters are often the first responders to people in critical conditions, firefighters provide many other valuable services to the community they serve. Students were told about all this and lots more. How to 'read' a fire, how does a fire extinguisher work, the science of extinguishment, when and how to use water, how to tactfully isolate a fire... All such questions were answered during the course of the workshop. Simple hands-on activities further enhanced the understanding of a child about something as deadly as fire. We hope that the students never need to apply this acquired knowledge about fire-fighting in their lives, but, in case, they encounter any mishappening, they would be better equipped to fight the same.
