Friendship Day celebrations take place on the first Sunday of August every year.This tradition of celebrating a day in the name of our friends began in U.S. in 1935. Since then, it has gained immense popularity worldwide. In 1997, the United Nations named Winnie the Pooh as the world's ambassador of friendship. Click here to know more. We take many things for granted in our lives. We take it for granted that the sun will rise again tommorrow without any fail. We assume that our friendships will never suffer. That's not true.
