Undoubtedly, it was a special day in our school.It was Shram House function today. SHALOM - IN QUEST OF PEACE AND HARMONY, was how Shramians tagged their function.Though the word SHALOM belongs to an alien language (Hebrew) which means hello/goodbye/peace but its message was loud and clear.Children displayed their desperation of setting this world free from the clutches of terrorism. Dr. Ruchi Sharma, Principal DPS Gurgaon was the Guest of Honour.
Shram house is blessed with many talented students and dedicated teachers as the blend of both has been instrumental in outshining others in various walks of life.The integrated efforts of all takes the credit away for the success story of Shram House.
The special features of the program were SHRAM GAAN, ORCHESTRA(Camel's ride), LAKYA SINDOOR (Odissi Dance), AEROBICS , TARANA ( Kathak Performance) , HINDI DRAMA (Shanti Ho Tribhuvan Mein).These cultural programmes when cooked together is the perfect recipe of a thought-provoking function like this one.
But they had saved the best for the last- something grabbed every one's attention when it appeared that the movie was over, Picture Abhi Baaki Thi.... Children were standing at the exit with some colours and pointed out to a blank board saying-"ALL WE ARE SAYING IS GIVE PEACE A CHANCE .... WE WILL OVERCOME..." They wanted all to turn that board colourful by giving hand prints as their vote for peace.People hesitated at first, but could not refuse for the children's demand was justified. And the rest they say, is history.
