Report: Labour Day Celebration

Date: 1st  May 2026

Classes: 6 to 8

Theme: Dignity of Labour – Respect for Every Worker

"Labour builds the nation – Salute their dedication"

To honour the contribution of workers and to instill the value of dignity of labour among students, Labour Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students of Classes 6 to 8 on 29th April 2026 during zero period.

The following activities were conducted to pay gratitude to all labourers for their hard work and dedication:

1. Thank You Card Making : Students prepared handmade cards for school support staff including guards, cleaners, drivers, didis, and electricians. The cards were displayed on the soft board and later handed over personally as a token of love and respect.

2. Role Play: "A Day in Their Shoes": Groups of 4-5 students presented 2-minute skits depicting the daily lives of helpers such as farmers, nurses, postmen, and construction workers. The activity helped students understand and appreciate the efforts behind each profession.

3. Gratitude Chain: Each student wrote a line of thanks on a paper strip: "I thank *because*". The strips were stapled together to form a “Gratitude Chain”

4. Oath + Slogan Chanting: The teacher led the students in a pledge: "We respect all work and all workers." This was followed by energetic slogan chanting:

“Mehnat ka samman karo, Shramik ka abhimaan karo”

“Work with pride, walk with dignity.”

5. Token of Thanks: Representatives from the school support staff were invited to the classrooms. Children presented them with handmade cards, flowers and chocolate as a token of thanks. Students expressed their gratitude in a few heartfelt lines.

The celebration was successful in sensitizing students towards the importance of every profession and the dignity of labour. Students participated with full zeal and pledged to respect all workers in society.

We are thankful to our respected Principal Mrs. Nidhi Chaudhary Ma’am for constantly and consistently providing guidance to children and giving opportunities to children to participate in such meaningful activities.
