Sugar Awareness Project: "Sugar Boards"

As part of the Happiness Project, students in classes 6 to 8 embarked on a Sugar Awareness initiative to create a healthier and more informed community. The project involved creating A4-sized sheets to raise awareness about the risks of excessive sugar consumption and promote healthy eating habits.

Key Takeaways:

1. Normal Sugar Levels: Students learned about recommended daily sugar intake and its effects on the body.

2. Insulin Intolerance: They understood insulin intolerance, its symptoms, and relation to sugar consumption.

3. Health Risks: Students highlighted risks associated with excessive sugar intake, including:

    - Obesity and Weight Gain

    - Type 2 Diabetes

    - Tooth Decay and Oral Health Issues

4. Sugar Content in Foods: They researched and listed sugar and calorie content in popular foods and beverages, such as:

    - Soft Drinks

    - Packaged Snacks (biscuits, chips, energy bars)

5. Healthier Alternatives: Students suggested healthier options like fruits, nuts, and low-sugar snacks.

Students participated enthusiastically and learnt valuable facts about sugar consumption and its effects on the body in a fun and engaging way. We would like to extend our gratitude to our Principal Mam for providing such opportunities for students to explore and learn through such initiatives.
