To commemorate English Language Day, and honour the bard, CRPF Public School, Rohini, organized a series of engaging and intellectually stimulating activities that celebrated the richness, versatility, and global significance of the English language. The celebrations aimed at enhancing students’ appreciation for the language while honing their communication, literary, and critical thinking skills.
1. Shakespeare Quiz Competition:
A specially curated quiz was conducted for students,
focusing on the life and works of William Shakespeare. Students answered
questions ranging from famous lines and characters to lesser-known facts about
the Bard’s influence on the English language.
2. Debate Competition – “English: A Global Necessity or
Cultural Dominance?”
A spirited debate was conducted wherein students explored
the impact of English as a global language. Participants showcased
well-researched arguments, impressive diction, and persuasive oratory skills,
sparking thoughtful discussions among peers and teachers alike.
3. Phrasal Verbs Popularised by Shakespeare:
An interactive classroom activity highlighted phrasal verbs
and idiomatic expressions coined or popularised by Shakespeare.
4. Speaking Activities
Students participated in numerous oratory activities.
Emphasis was laid on pronunciation, intonation, and expressive delivery.
The English Language Day celebration at CRPF Public School,
Rohini, was a meaningful and enriching experience that ignited a deeper love
for the language among students. Through a variety of literary and linguistic
activities, the event not only honoured William Shakespeare’s legacy but also
emphasized the enduring power of English in connecting cultures and minds.
