Information regarding various Mathematics Olympiads - 2014


Dear Students,

It is to bring to your kind concern that our school is participating in the following Mathematics Competitions/Olympiads this year. These Olympiads help in arousing students’ interest and enthusiasm for mathematical problem solving, develop mathematical intuition, reasoning and logical ability, as well as creative and critical thinking. You are therefore recommended to take part in these Olympiads. 

1. 8th International Mathematics Olympiad 2014
(Conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation)

Exam Date: 4 December 2014 (Thursday)
Enrollment fee: Rs 120 (Rs. One hundred and twenty only)
Venue:  CRPF School
Exam Pattern: 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) to be answered in 1 hour
Prizes to be won: Laptop for toppers; Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for top 3 students, School  
Topper award, Merit Certificate and Participation Certificates.
How to prepare: Practice books for the Olympiad are available in the market (MTG Publication) .

2. 7th International Olympiad of Mathematics
(Conducted by Silver Zone Foundation)

Exam Date: 2 December 2014 (Tuesday)
Enrollment fee: Rs 120 (Rs. One hundred and twenty only)
Venue:  CRPF School
Exam Pattern: 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) to be answered in 1 hour
Prizes to be won: Cash Prizes, Laptop for toppers; Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for top 3    students,School Topper award, Merit Certificate and Participation Certificates.

3. Fifth Intra School Mathematics Olympiad.
(Organised by Mathematics Department, CRPF School)

Exam Date: 7 November 2014 (Friday)
Enrollment fee: Rs 40 (Rs. Forty only)
Venue:  CRPF School
Eligibility Criteria:  A Student must have obtained grade A or B in Mathematics in last class
attended. (For XI/XII class min 60%).
Exam Pattern: 70% Objective (MCQs based on NCERT , HOTS, logical Reasoning with No
Negative Marking) and 30% Subjective.
Prizes to be won: Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for top 3 students of each class, Merit
Certificate to all those scoring at least 60% in the exam.
