REPORT ON SWACHHTA PAKHWADA ACTIVITIES

Introduction

various activities were organised in the school under Swachhta Pakhwada with the objective of promoting cleanliness, hygiene, water conservation, environmental awareness and responsible citizenship among students.

The activities were conducted by different sections and classes of the school.

1. Swachhta Shapath

A Swachhta Shapath was administered during the morning assembly through the school PA system. Students and staff participated in the pledge and reaffirmed their commitment towards cleanliness, hygiene and maintaining a clean school and environment.

2. Creation of Electronic Banners

Students of Classes VIII and IX participated in the creation of electronic banners based on themes related to Swachhta Pakhwada. The topics included:

●     Cleanliness is next to Godliness

●     Green Delhi

●     Green School

●     Ban on Single-Use Plastics

●     Clean and Healthy Environment

●     Sustainable Living

The activity encouraged students to express their ideas creatively while spreading awareness about cleanliness and environmental responsibility.

3. Awareness Generation through Social Media

An awareness campaign on water scarcity and water conservation was conducted through the school’s class-wise WhatsApp groups. The Eco Club took the initiative to disseminate important messages encouraging students and parents to conserve water and avoid its wastage.

The campaign highlighted the importance of responsible use of water and the need for collective efforts to address water scarcity.

4. Slogan Writing and Poster Making

Students of Class VI participated in a slogan-writing activity based on the theme “Green School”. Students prepared slogans at home and brought them to school for display and documentation.

Students also prepared posters on themes such as:

●     Cleanliness

●     Personal hygiene

●     Water conservation

●     Green School

●     Environmental protection

●     Sustainable practices

The activity provided students with an opportunity to communicate important environmental and hygiene messages through creative expression.

5. Activities by  Pre-Primary Students

The Pre-Primary Department conducted activities focusing on Hand Wash Day and Personal Hygiene Day.

Hand Wash Day

Children were taught the correct steps of hand washing and were sensitised about:

●     Proper hand-washing practices

●     Avoiding wastage of water

●     Water-borne diseases

●     Hand hygiene

●     Oral hygiene

The activities were conducted in an age-appropriate and interactive manner to help young learners develop healthy habits.

Personal Hygiene Day

Students were also made aware of the importance of maintaining personal hygiene. They were taught about:

●     Keeping nails clean and properly trimmed

●     Bathing regularly

●     Wearing clean clothes every day

●     Using washrooms properly

●     Drinking water safely and hygienically

●     Brushing teeth twice a day

●     Maintaining overall personal cleanliness

Photographs of the activities were taken by the concerned coordinator and geo-tagged as required.

6. Bal Sansad / School Cabinet Meeting

A short meeting of the Bal Sansad/School Cabinet was conducted to discuss activities related to Swachhta Pakhwada and to invite suggestions from student representatives.

The prefects were organised into the following groups:

1. Classes II–V
2. Classes VI–VIII
3. Classes IX–XII

The respective coordinators conducted discussions with the prefects before the examination. Students shared their suggestions and ideas for promoting cleanliness, hygiene, water conservation and environmental awareness in the school.

The Swachhta Pakhwada activities provided students with opportunities to develop awareness about cleanliness, personal hygiene, water conservation and environmental sustainability. The active participation of students, teachers, coordinators, the Eco Club and the School Cabinet contributed to the successful implementation of the activities.

The programme reinforced the message that maintaining a clean, green and healthy environment is a collective responsibility and that small, responsible actions can contribute significantly towards building a sustainable school and society.
