Road Safety Week

Road safety is one of the most important topic that has been added to the field of education and social awareness in order to bring more awareness in the public especially among school and college students. As we are all aware that road accidents kill lakhs of people in India with more than 60% of them in the age group 15-34 years, so there’s a need to learn the road traffic and safety rules at a very early age to perform safer behaviours in the later life. Road safety education has been recognized as an instrument for reducing road accidents. Research tells us that influencing the behaviour of road users is important in the effort to save lives. In response to that, the long term vision of the government is to develop a safe

road system where crashes resulting in death and serious injury are virtually eliminated. Effective road safety education will give students an opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to help them make informed and safer decisions in traffic and traffic environments. To create the awareness, various activities were conducted in classes VI-VIII, including slogan writing, quiz and poster making. The students showcased deep interest and enthusiasm in the activity. We express our sincere gratitude to the respected Principal Ma’am for motivating us. We are highly grateful for the constant support and encouragement given by Vice Principal Ma’am and Mentor Ma’am.
