National Mathematics Day is celebrated every year on 22nd
December to mark the birth anniversary of legendary Indian Mathematician, Srinivasa
Ramanujan.
December 22 was designated as National Mathematics Day (NMD)
by Government of India in 2012.
The celebrations aim at spreading awareness about the
importance of mathematics and the contributions made by Srinivasa Ramanujan, in
the field of mathematics.
Following activities were taken to make this day a joyful
learning experience:
* Exploring patterns, solving puzzles, and understanding the
world through numbers.
* Showcasing of life history of Srinivasa Ramanujan
highlighting his contributions.
* Discussion of Ramanujan's magic square and Ramanujan's
number.
* Hands on activities like poster making, article writing, demonstrations
