National Mathematics Day, observed on December 22, commemorates the birth anniversary of the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. In honor of this day, various engaging activities were organized to instill joyful learning among students.
Activities included an intra Maths and Science Olympiad for classes VI-IX, where a large number of students participated enthusiastically. All classes from VI to XI engaged in activities facilitated by Maths and Science teachers within their respective classrooms. Students explored the life history of Srinivasa Ramanujan, his contributions to mathematics, and participated in the intriguing MAGIC SQUARE activity, creating their own magic squares.
Additional activities such as poster making, article writing, quizzes, ppt presentations, hands-on activity demonstrations by students, and comic strip preparations contributed to the overall celebration.
In the Pre-Primary department, students from classes I and II participated in a Math Wizard quiz based on logical reasoning and a Math-O Design Competition, where they created scenes using basic mathematical shapes. Additionally, Class KG students participated in the Shape O Mania Competition, constructing beautiful objects using cutouts of 2D shapes.
The celebration aimed to create awareness about the importance of mathematics and explore mathematical concepts in a fun and interactive way.
