 (75th Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav)

Date- 13 August 2022, Saturday

The morning today saw a rather vibrant horizon at the CRPF Public School, Rohini, as the school was filled with patriotic zest and fervor towards the noble initiative by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. As India celebrates her 75th year of the historic Independence Day, this was a humble effort from the school’s Principal, Mrs. Nidhi Chaudhary, the esteemed staff and students of the institution.

Bearing in mind the rigorous surge towards the progressive vision of the school, all the performances, be it songs, dance or skits, each and every presentation covered the aspect of inducing the feeling of ‘Unity in Diversity’, celebrating and rejoicing in the inclusivity of our multifarious cultures, ethnicities, languages and religious identities. Recalling the vision of a secular, democratic India, the staff and students actively participated in flag-distribution, display and ensured safe and dignified up-keeping of the sacrosanct Tirangaa or the ‘Tricolour’, which is a towering marker of our identity as Indians, a symbol of pride and an unsurpassed metaphor for diversity.

The programmes began with an august gathering around the Tricolour, which was hosted by respected Principal madam, followed by singing of the National Anthem, National song and a Skit by the students of Secondary wing, which highlighted the sacrifices of the Freedom Fighters in the history of the Indian freedom struggle. These initial programmes were then followed by a delectable Lavani from Maharashtra, performed stupendously by the students of the Secondary and Senior Secondary wings. The entire set of programmes were presented meticulously on the dias by students of the Senior secondary wing. The Coordinator of the Primary wing of, Mrs. Vandana Sehgal addressed the students and appealed to their nationalistic spirit and urged them to take pride in being an Indian and emphasized on fulfilling one’s duty with responsibility. She made an appeal to all and sundry, recalling Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s iconic poem:

“Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high”

A shout out the tiny tots from the Pre-primary and Primary Wings for the following events- Little patriots dressed in the vibrant colours of the nation-Saffron, White and Green presented poems instilling a sense of pride and patriotism in everyone, followed by a skit infused with the message of “Unity in Diversity” and recalling the value of our struggle for freedom. This was followed by a presentation of the ‘Fundamental Rights and Duties’ enshrined in our esteemed Constitution. A special speech was given on understanding and identifying the true essence of ‘Patriotism’, culminating in a musical rendition on songs infused with patriotic fervor by the Primary wing.   A special mention goes to the ever cheerful and super energetic Cultural department of the school, comprising namely of the Dance, Music (Vocal and Instrumental), Art and Craft and everyone concerned for the majestic array of events throughout the day.

The day culminated on a patriotic, lively and cheerful note, infused with the idea that “We are one, through thick and thin, united as Indians of an Independent world which our forefathers dreamt of”.
