SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

“We are the Indian and we celebrate all festivals in every region of every religion. That is why it is called incredible India!”

A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the soil of its people. India is truly a land of diversities.  We proudly presented this through our special assembly which was a combination of Ambedkar Jayanti, Mahavir Jayanti, Baisakhi, Good Friday and the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. It was indeed a day of festivities today which was celebrated in it's true spirit. In Pre-Primary Department, our tiny tots dressed up in traditional punjabi attire to celebrate "Baisakhi-Yellow Day".  Children exhibited their talent and creativity in various art and craft activities like colouring of ‘Dhol' and finger printing of corn and wheat etc. to mark the occasion. The students of Primary Department brought alive Dr. Ambedkar from the pages of history, through his mesmerizing character portrayal. Thus, an effort was made to enlighten the students about the contributions made by him as a social and political reformer and his endeavours to eradicate social evil like untouchability. Students of class 8 dressed up as Jain Saints and recited the teachings of Lord Mahavira.   Children of class 7 also threw light on the significance of the Baisakhi festival in Punjabi. The day was made memorable by an enthralling dance performance by the students of classes 6-8. A Quiz Competition was organized for the students of classes 6 to 8 and children participated enthusiastically. The day of festivities was celebrated with great fervour and gaiety by the students to make the day remarkable and pay tribute to Baba Saheb.
