World Day against Child Labour

“Let there be books instead of tools in the little hands”

Child labour is a menace that the always evolving world still has to deal with. Owing to the pandemic, there has been an increase in child labour across the world. June 12 is also celebrated as World Day against Child Labour to raise awareness regarding the detrimental consequences of the same.

In order to sensitize everyone on this most relevant social issue, the students of Class 8 conducted a special assembly on the World day against Child Labour. The assembly started with the morning prayer followed by the news headlines and the thought for the day. They enacted a story on the issue of child labour with a clarion call to stop this.

The students presented posters and recited poems appealing to the audience to raise their voice against child labour. They urged their fellow friends to raise objection if they themselves witness any form of child labour in their neighborhood.

The assembly concluded with the students taking a pledge to raise their voice against this crime of child labour.
