First Intra-School Maths Olympiad

Dear all

The school's Mathematics Department is organising the First Intra-School Mathematics Olympiad for all the classes (I - XII) on Tuesday, 9 November 2010 in the school.

All the students of classes I-XII who have scored at least 75% marks in mathematics in their previous class are eligible to participate in the Olympiad. (And all those students who are interested but do not satisfy the eligibility criteria may also participate, provided they submit a recommendation letter from their respective mathematics teacher.)

The questions may be expected from non-routine math of various topics of school mathematics. The question paper will only contain multiple choice questions.

THERE IS NO ENTRY/REGISTRATION FEE.

DATE OF EXAM: 09 NOVEMBER 2010 (Tuesday)

DURATION OF EXAM: 1 HOUR AND 30 MINUTES

LAST DATE TO APPLY: 30 OCTOBER 2010 (Saturday)

It's 15 October today, the (Happy!) Birthday of the school's former principal Mr. Suraj Prakash. On behalf of all his dear children and dedicated colleagues, we wish him a Very, Very Happy Birthday. May God bless you, sir!
We love you for everything you have done and for everything you will keep doing! We love you beyond reasons.

And to our (pleasant) surprise, we received a mail from our Dear Sir, acknowledging every person who took time out to wish him on this happy occasion. Through the means of networking sites, people put their Birthday wishes for Sir on record. And following is what Sir's mail contained, beautifully titled 'THANKS!' as a gesture of acknowledgement...

Received more than 450 messages, today--simply overwhelmed and humble. Feel proud to have such wonderful children.

I would like to put it as:

Those who have an intense intellectual life are in the habit of reflecting, observing, putting ideas together, gradually form a mental individuality for themselves.

Days And People: Then And Now!

Dear all
Second October it is, today. More than many other things, we remember this day as the birth day of The Father Of The Nation ... The birthday of Gandhiji... The day of Non-violence...

A lot could happen over a decade (Since Bapu left the physical world!)... And MANY decades are already our past now! No one has got the courage or the required wisdom to judge how much could we manage to do in this meanwhile. And how far would we dare to dream from now on!  But yes, whatever it is, howsoever we are, we hope we aren't 'that' bad to be inhabiting the same land where Bapu once walked and still lives!

Thought provoking that was! Wasn't it? Provoking sincere thoughts about the way 'they' lived and the way 'we' do! But 'we' have always been hopeful about things around us! And we will hopefully continue the legacy!
