Dear Readers,
In the recently concluded CBSE National Football Championships at Sunbean Suncity School in Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), CRPF School, Rohini U19 Football Team was among the two teams representing Delhi at these National Championships. CRPF School qualified after finishing runners-up in the zonal competition. The School qualified competing against 50+ schools from the Delhi Zone - to play the National Zone Championship which is played among the best 40 schools (under CBSE) from entire India along with 6 International teams from UAE, Oman, etc.
At the National Championships - CRPF Rohini performed exceptionally well qualifying for the knockout round with 3 wins and just 1 defeat in the group stages. In the knockout stage - the school defeated Syed Mohammad Haji School, Thrissur, Kerala in the pre-quarter finals and Sant Baba Bhag Singh International School, Jalandhar in the quarter finals in a tie-breaker. The school got the second runners-up spot after they lost the semifinals against DPS Panipat in a tightly fought contest in which the school lost by a solitary goal.
In 2014, CRPF School also qualified for the CBSE National Football Championship (in Gujarat) and finished runners-up in the tournament.
All the players deserve huge credit as they finished this national tournament with a position which will also help them to seek admission in premier under-graduate institutions through merit in Sports.
Annually - the School nurtures about 8-10 players who successfully use their experience as national-level players to seek admission in reputed colleges of the Delhi University including Motilal Nehru College, Sri Venkateswara College. Zakir Hussain College, Kirori Mal college among others.
