HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GREAT INDIAN MATHEMATICIAN - RAMANUJAN

Dear Reader,

Srinivasa Ramanujan (22 December 1887 – 26 April 1920) was an Indian mathematician, who made extraordinary contributions to mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series, and continued fractions. Ramanujan independently compiled nearly 3900 results (mostly identities and equations). His work continues to inspire mathematicians even today!
Srinivasa Ramanujan, born into a poor Brahmin family at Erode on Dec. 22, 1887, attended school in nearby Kumbakonam. By the time he was 13, he could solve unaided every problem in Loney's Trigonometry, and at 14 he obtained the theorems for the sine and the cosine that had been anticipated by L. Euler.
Ramanujan became so absorbed in mathematics that when he entered the local government college in 1904 with a merit scholarship, he neglected his other subjects and lost the scholarship. Ramanujan married in 1909, and while working as a clerk he continued his mathematical investigations.
In January 1913 Ramanujan sent some of his work to G. H. Hardy, Cayley lecturer in mathematics at Cambridge. Hardy noticed that Ramanujan had rediscovered, and gone far beyond, some of the latest conclusions of Western mathematicians.
In 1914 Ramanujan went to Cambridge. The university experience gave him considerable sophistication, but intuition still played a more important role than argument. In Hardy's opinion, if Ramanujan's gift had been recognized early, he could have become one of the greatest mathematicians of all time. His patience, memory, power of calculation, and intuition made him the greatest formalist of his day.
In 1918 Ramanujan was elected a fellow of the Royal Society and a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge.
However, the story goes that, Ramanujan’s health deteriorated greatly while he was in England, and he eventually had to travel back to India in 1919. He died a year later, when he was only 33 years of age, although his work will be remembered for a long time. He dealt with Riemann series, the elliptic integrals, hyper geometric series, and functional equations of the zeta function. Hardy liked to rank mathematicians on a scale of 1 to 100, and he gave himself 25, Littlewood 30, David Hilbert 80, and Ramanujan 100, which shows just how great Ramanujan was.

Skit- Principal welcome Primary Dept (Rehearsal)

Needless to mention, her views, opinions, energy and the zeal to bring about the much-needed and desired change in the education system are quite contagious. Positively so!
One is bound to admire her abilities of understanding the tender heart and soul of a young child. She surely understands the need of a conducive environment for a child to really cherish the process of learning and education. She rightly emphasizes on reinstating the rapidly depleting values and morals and that both teachers and the parents are required to play a crucial role in the same.
Once again, Edu-club extends a heartiest welcome and hopes that everybody is all set to join hands with you while you bring your amazing visions and dreams for the school to reality.

Happy Children's Day

Dear Reader
Happy Children's Day to all! Yes, to all! Why? Don't we all long to be a child? Don't we all crave for our childhood again? Well, there's no point in being a grown up if you can't be childish sometimes! So, Be a child today! We know it’s a refreshing thought ... the thought of your sweet childhood!
Celebrated on 14 November i.e. on the birthday of Chacha Nehru who loved and was loved by children, this day is simply set to honor children and minors. The day is marked with a lot of activities for children. But the fact remains that only a section of the country’s children actually have an opportunity to celebrate their existence. There is an entire populace of young ones that are left ignored on this special day – the downtrodden street children. This day reminds to each and every one of us, to renew our commitment to the welfare of children and teach them to live by their Chacha Nehru’s quality and dream. What can you do about it? Childhood is about innocence and playfulness .It is about joy and freedom. May be on this day you might sign up to sponsor education of a underprivileged child in an NGO such as DIYA FOUNDATION or PRAYAS or CRY.
Also visit facebook page https://www.facebook.com/NoMoreMissing1/ . This is special page dedicated to help those people who have lost their children...No More Missing is the only hope to find & see their missing child again. Watch this small video for details.
Once again... Wishing you all a very Happy Children's Day.

Project : Once Upon a Time

It is very rightly said the whenever we read a good book, somewhere in the world a door opens to allow in more light of wisdom & knowledge.Academic schedules, time table ; co-curricular routines fill up our daily regime but despite all that, listening to short stories has always been one of our favourite hobbies. To spur on this listening & speaking skill, the primary department of C.R.P.F. Public School, Rohini has initiated a project called ‘Once upon a time’. This project is a way to lend our ears to another's voice, another’s soul and slip into another’s skin.Under the guidance of our Vice Principal ma’am, Mrs. Uma Mudgal and the Co-ordinator Ma'am ,Mrs. Vandana Sehgal the idea of unfolding the lives of great personalities through short stories cropped up.When a teacher narrates a story & creates the world of imagination out of small, flat, rigid squares of paper, a new world unfolds that sings to the children and excites them to know more. This power of listening, discussing and reading more about it fuels the development of various aspects of a child. It’s importance cannot be overstated.Short stories from the lives of great scientists, sport personalities, freedom fighters, social activists will be taken up to stretch the imagination of our students & encourage them to reach out towards people who are quite different from their own.

Educational Trip to National Rail Museum

It was a day full of fun, learning and excitement when class III students went for a picnic to National Rail Museum on 9th October 2015. It was an enriching experience as the museum has a fascinating and exotic collection of over 100 real size exhibits of Indian Railways. The most exciting part was the Joy ride.
