Jr. Library Quiz Sessions

The Junior Library of C.R.P.F. Public School caters to the needs of Junior School students. Its main aim being-to generate reading interest amongst the students.

This begins with the orientation: An orientation to the students is given at the beginning. They are told about how to use the library and the various kinds of books available in different shelves. The pupils are also made aware about the library rules and how to take care of the reading materials.

Initially, the children browse through pictures of the books then gradually reading “easy-to-read-text” books. The stories that present attraction amongst students like the ‘ Panchtantra’ and the ‘Fairy Tales’ which have world over recognition are popular amongst the pupils. These stories have academic and reformer values depicted through respective morals.

By the time they complete their V class, they are well read with classics like David Copperfield, Oliver Twist etc. and the books available in Junior Library by current authors like J.K. Rowling; with special mention of Enid Blyton, Ruskin Bond, Rudyard Kippling, Lewis Carrol etc.

In order to scale the library reading various library activities are being held from time to time. Recently a library quiz was also organized by Primary Department of the school in which students of classes IV and V participated with full zeal and the audience was also equally enthusiastic about it.

It was an exciting arrangement for the students to venture into the book world.

Session of class X students by DIG(Adm) Cum Manager of the school Mrs.Anupam Kulshreshtha

Dear All

CRPF Public School, Rohini was fortunate to have the august presence of Mrs.Anupam Kulshreshtha, DIG(Adm) Cum Manager of the school for enlightening the children about various dimensions of life, viz. attitude, aptitude, etiquettes , social reengineering, career choice and gender sensitivity.
She took the session of Class X students in two separate groups and touched upon various aspects of life in particular SWOT analysis i.e. strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, explained to the children, the relevance and significance of SWOT analysis for the self enhancement and enrichment of the personality.  She compared the teenage children with sailors who are caught in big ocean with rudderless ships and are in the grip of confusion and dilemma which keep on striking them and sometimes even causing deep depression.  Parental pressure and peer pressure are the other two troubles that they have to brave now and then. She advised the children neither to become biased to any gender nor follow either patriarchal or matriarchal line in a lopsided way.  It was a fabulous session of personality development in a very informal way through interaction emphasizing on the need of critical and independent thinking and decision making without being carried away by the glamour and glory attached to a particular conventional career.  She very strongly communicated to the children the need of following unconventional careers and the need of understanding the significance of different streams viz. Science, Commerce and Humanities.  She told the children that every stream in itself had opportunities galore and that she herself, in spite of having been a very bright student of Science upto Class X, preferred to go for Humanities as per her own choice which ultimately was instrumental in  fulfilling her dream of becoming a Civil servant.  It was sheer love and concern of her for the children which made her spare time despite her extremely busy schedule, to talk to the children of Class X who are on the brink of appearing in the Board examination which these days does not leave any scope for fear or strain, the way it used to be attached to the Board examination earlier.
Over all, it was a great opportunity for the children to know the importance of learning, unlearning and relearning and also for learning the lesson of being a good human being and in turn a good citizen of the Nation.

Grandparent's Day Celebration

Dear All,

With lack of values and ethics affecting the very fabric of our society, it becomes our prime responsibility to mend the flaws in our own little ways. To make the young ones understand the significance of family values and to cultivate among them the values of compassion and respect towards elders C.R.P.F. Public School, Rohini celebrated Grandparents Day on 28th December 2012. It was a day to honour all the loving grandparents and to tell them how special they are. To acclaim their significant role as a building block of society a gala of presentations was exhibited by the students of class I and II. The occasion started with a prayer to seek His blessings for each moment to be healthy and happy for all of us.

With a warm welcome by our Principal Sir, through which he acknowledged grandparent’s role in preserving family’s heritage and their relevant position in today’s scenario. The function proceeded with a vibrant folk dance presentation by class II kids who brought on the stage the melody of Kashmir in cohesion with the beats of dandiya from Gujarat and dhol of Punjab in synthesis with rapturous movement of tribal dance. A skit on family relations, ‘Kal Aaj aur Kal’ and a Christmas carol presentation, ‘A call for Santa’ also formed the noteworthy part of this programme. Entertaining and hilarious events for grandparent’s added spirit and flavour to the celebration. The grand affair came to an end with a peppy dance number by class I kiddos on the rhythm of ‘Mambo No. 5’. ‘Sharing is happiness’ was glorified when beautiful candles were gifted to the grandparents by our tiny tots as a token of love and reverence. Hot cup of tea and sunny weather supplemented to this emotional event. Vote of Thanks rendered by Ms. Hema Batra, pre-primary in charge, brought this cordial occasion to an unforgettable climax.
